The year was 1974, Santoro Oil bought their first New Boston Steel unit. This was the start of a long and prosperous relationship between the Santoro Brothers, Joseph, John and Anthony and the Burke Brothers Ron and Dave.
Established in 1952 by Joseph Santoro, Santoro Oil initially delivered 300 000 gallons of heating oil every winter. Over the years, the company has expanded its activities delivering over 45 million gallons of fuel yearly. Santoro Oil now offers a wide variety of products and service through different acquisitions they have made over the decades. Located in Providence, RI, the fuel distribution company also services through CK Smith Superior located in Worcester, MA, their motor oil division, Ocean State Oil in North Kingstown, RI and Domestic Fuels & Lube located in Chesapeake, VA.
Boston Steel is proud to be a part of Santoro’s growth for more than 40 years. Both companies have built their successes together, the Burke brothers being part of many of Santoro’s first tanks. As the necessity for bigger capacity tanks grew, Boston Steel grew the size of their tanks. As Santoro Oil diversified its products, Boston Steel built custom tanks to meet the company’s needs such as motor oil tank trucks. Known for its high quality tanks and expertise in the industry, the Boston Steel team and the new owners, the Tremblay family, intends on pursuing this precious family relationship into the 3rd generation with John’s two sons Joe & John Santoro and Anthony’s two children Kim and Anthony Santoro Jr.
